Amazing tiny treehouse in the woods here in Bastrop County. This is near an area with lots of new homes built following the Bastrop County Complex Fire. Still plenty of trees in this area, if you were wondering 😉 . There is also quite a bit of loss of forestation as you would expect following the most destructive wildfire in Texas history.
The area along State Highway 21 near Bastrop and surrounding FM 1441 is known as Circle D and KC Estates. One of the two originating fires began in this area, so there is significant deforestation to be found around here. But you might be surprised to learn that there are still quite a few old trees standing and now 4 years after the fire lots of new trees growing and almost as many new houses! If you like smaller homes you’ll love taking a drive through the area and checking out all the cottage style designs that have popped up after the fire.
